Electrix Illumination 2245-BK Architect's Incandescent Swing Arm Clamp-On Lamp

Electrix Illumination 2245-BK Architect's incandescent swing arm clamp-on lamp, 45 reach, metal shade, black

The sturdiest clamp on lamp I have found   5
Most of these swing arm, clamp on lamps are junk. As an artist for 50 years I've been through dozens of them. This one is the best I have found…made to last. I have been using it for two months now and it shows no signs of wear. The clamp is over engineered, it will take a 100W bulb and the arm locks are made to last. It is worth the extra money.

Sturdy & Well Designed   5
I've used swing-arm lamps in my home office for the past 3 decades and this is by far the best. I've just ordered another one, for use at work.

The lamp is sturdy and easy to adjust. The internal reflector, metal with white enamel, increases usable light output. Louvers at the top of the lamp dissipate heat but, thanks to the reflector, do not give off glare.

What a welcome contrast to the cheap import I purchased only last year. Two key parts of the adjustment mechanism succumbed to metal fatigue. The on-off switch became difficult to turn. The lamp overheated when used with a lightbulb of the maximum recommended wattage and ultimately suffered burned-out circuit wiring. Not a bargain by any standard.

Highly recommended! Easy to clamp onto to the corner of a desk or table, can be positioned to spotlight any area or entire work area. Well-made, worth the price.

Ledu L445BK Professional Fluorescent/Incandescent Swing Arm, Clamp-on Lamp (top)

Ledu L445BK Professional Fluorescent/Incandescent Swing Arm, Clamp-on Lamp

Best Table lamp money could buy   5
This has both a circular fluorescent lamp and an incandescent lamp, as part of the shipment. You have an option to turn on either, one at a time, or both together. The finishing looks sturdy and excuisite. It has totally eased my reading and writing experiences, since the light output is very pleasing to the eye. Being a masters student with lots of homework, a full-time employee and with interest in cartooning, this lamp is an indispensible purchase I ever made, and very happy about it.

Good product – but beware of seller Shoplet.com   3
I just received the product today and was very disappointed: the clamp for mounting the lamp was missing as was any instructions/manual and no 100 Watt bulb. The packing by shoplet.com was absolutely unreal: they simply placed a UPS sticker on the outside of the retail box designed to be put on a shelf. Needless to say the trip via UPS obliterated the box and I suspect that is how the clamp and instructions were lost.
Normally the shipper's place the product in a larger box with some bubble wrap.
Now the real kicker: I got a bag of candy from shoplet the day after I ordered – packed in a really nice strong box! Somebody has their priorities wrong over there – they should spend the money on a decent box instead of overnighting a bag of candies that went in the trash.
Bottom line – good light – seems strong and well made, but beware of the seller – shoplet.com could become shopnot.com.

great lamp, but shipment is incomplete   2
This is a great lamp, especially for color work. With both types of light, it makes a real difference in how color appears on paper.

However, as with another reviewer, my lamp arrived with no clamp, no instructions, and no light bulb. How am I supposed to use it if there's no way to attach it to a desk?

Nice, now I have to go out shopping and find a clamp on desk lamp, which is exactly what I wanted to avoid by buying online.

Twin Light Architect's Clamp-On Desk Lamp (top)

Twin Light Architect's Clamp-On Desk Lamp

good deal for this particular type 5
I've seen this kind of lamp advertised on office supplies online stores and they go anywhere from 2x to 3x the price of this lamp. This makes the lamp a good deal for this particular type. I've found cheaper lamps for about $20, but the arm on those cheapos doesn't stay in its intended position and the knobs don't do anything. The build on this lamp appears to be of good quality. Almost all parts are made of steel or some other metal. I was going to purchase this off of amazon, but I found out that there is a Lamps Plus store near where I live so I went there in person to check it out. The arm on the display model worked rather well and so does the one I have now. The main downside I've seen so far is that you can only get this in white. One last thing is that the one I purchased included both the circular fluorescent and incadescent bulbs.

Good light. Some quality concerns. 3
Due to its dual bulbs (incandescent and fluorcescent), this lamp gives off a really high quality of light, and it's bright. Very pleasant for paperwork, drawing, etc. It's full-size (a little big really) and comes with a properly designed clamp for attaching to the edge of a desk or table.

The quality is not the best. The lamp rattles quite audibly when I just touch the table, and tiny flakes of paint keep falling from one of the rotating joints. Also I have to hold down the "start" button for a good couple of seconds to make the fluorescent bulb turn on, which is a nuisance.

Great Desk Lamp for doing Homework/Cramming! 5
Picked this up in store. I clamped this onto a desk on my left side and keep it right over my head. The movement of this thing reminds of being at the dentist, though I've never shined it in front of my big mouth (lol). It does have a 2-bulb feature, one circline (circular) fluorescent bulb at 22W I think, and also has a socket in the center for "Type A" bulbs I think it supports up to 100W. I got rid of the conventional bulb in favor of a non-circline fluorescent bulb that looks like a small white slinky. If you get this clamp on desk lamp I suggest you install 2 fluorescent bulbs to accomodate the sockets. I got this during Finals Week this past Fall.

This lamp really works. 5
After using another brand circular magnifying florescent lamp for two years that was always sagging, had a blurry lens and dim light I had to find something else.
This Electrix Halogen lamp works great, is very bright and most important it stays where you set it. The lens is extremely clear and sharp. Only thing that could make this a better lamp would be even brighter light, it has a high/low setting and I've never used the low. I need a lot of light and while it is very bright I'd like the high to be 150w. Ok that's being a bit picky, I really love this lamp!

Great Lamp 5
Absolute the best lamp I have ever bought and a must for everyone who has a small room. It provides perfect lighting over my sewing area. It it easy to swing from one sewing machine to the other and uses no space on the sewing table. Great product!

A nice lamp for a fair price 4
I bought this lamp for a dorm room, where my desk is under my bed. It fits my needs perfectly. It clamps on (the clamp can be mounted on a sideways plane) the support brace for my bed, and is highly articulate. It's also very steady, if you tighten down the screws, and doesn't droop too much if tightened. My one problem with this lamp is that it has the tendency to droop slightly if not tightened, and the clamp may wear out (but is probably replaceable.) If you're looking for a cheap swing arm lamp that still looks professional, look no further!

Good price, straightforward utility lamp 4
These lamps are exactly what I was looking for, and I'm generally quite pleased with the purchase. The base to one of them broke on installation, though, when I was adjusting the position of the lamp; my fault, probably, since I apparently didn't understand the geometry correctly. Have yet to request a replacement bracket, and should they provide it at no cost I'll edit the rating to five stars.

The shipping charge, however, seemed exorbitantly high. These are lightweight lamps and not particularly bulky, so $12 for two seems excessive to me. At $9.25 each, though, I think they were worth it.

DOES THE JOB AND THEN SOME!!! 4
Got this bad boy today. Looks very good and will do the job for my desk. This is not a 85.00 lamp for the price advertised here so if your looking for a high dollar, high performance lamp keep looking down the line. I used one of the new coil fluorescent bulbs and its a bit heavy for it so I did have to tighten the pivots joints and now its holding it fine. I do not think that I will have to be moving it around a lot so this will work fine for my plans and it looks very impressive on my desk. The cord is about 4ft in length, It has a twist on / off switch on top of the lamp head.
Amazon did a great job packaging this in a over sized box. You install the base how ever your mounting status is then put the lamp in the base which I thought was good planning and keeps you from banging it around.
All clamp on desk lamps should be like ths one. Buy with confidence. Great lamp for the price.
